I am pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Scott Mabury as Presidential Advisor on Real Estate for a one-year term, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027. In this role, Professor Mabury will serve as a strategic advisor to me and to the Vice-President, Facilities and Real Estate on matters relating to the University’s real estate portfolio.
Many members of our community know Scott through his years of distinguished leadership at the University of Toronto. Over more than three decades, he has helped shape the University not only as a scholar and academic leader, but also as one of the architects of our long-term vision for campus development, sustainability, and strategic growth.
Scott’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing many of the initiatives that are helping shape the future of our campuses. From establishing the University’s “Four Corners Strategy” for strategic real estate development, to overseeing major acquisitions and partnerships, to championing sustainable campus planning through our Climate Positive commitments, he has consistently brought together academic priorities, financial stewardship, and thoughtful city-building. His ability to navigate complex partnerships with governments, developers, and the University community has earned him enormous respect both within and beyond the University.
As Presidential Advisor on Real Estate, Scott will continue to make that expertise available to the University. His work will include identifying and championing new development opportunities, advising on potential acquisitions, and providing continuity for active real estate partnership negotiations. His experience, sound judgment, and commitment to the University of Toronto will be invaluable to the new Vice-President, Facilities and Real Estate as we advance projects that strengthen our campuses, support our academic mission, and create lasting value for our community.
