U of T’s Black History Month Luncheon 2025

Chantal Petitclerc, one of the most celebrated track athletes in history, was awarded the degree Doctor of Laws, honoris causa. She is the only Canadian to have won gold medals at the Olympics, Paralympics, and Commonwealth Games. A five-time Paralympic athlete, she won a total of 21 medals – 14 of which are gold – and set 26 new world records on every wheelchair distance from the 100m to the 1500m.
