U of T celebrates Geoffrey Hinton’s Nobel Prize
Mark Carney received the degree Doctor of Laws, honoris causa. The Governor of the Bank of England, and former Governor of the Bank of Canada from 2008 to 2013, he has built an illustrious global career in finance, including a 13-year career with Goldman Sachs before joining the public service. Currently he also serves as Chair of the Financial Stability Board.
